Bergholt Women's Institute (WI)
Originally founded on 2nd February 1921 the Women's Institute meets in the
Orpen Memorial Hall Lexden Road on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.15pm.
Today's women working for tomorrow's world is an apt description. This
year's programme is very varied from Psychics and Mediums, artists who painted
horses to a Race Night and West Mersea RNLI. We are looking forward to our
Fashion Show on March 7 when Viyella and Country Casuals will return, some of
our members will be models. Other W I's are invited and we make reciprocal
visits.
Our planned walks are always enjoyed followed by lunch at a local garden
centre. In July the annual coach outing takes place. In February we
celebrate our 91st birthday with lunch at The Lion Leavenheath.
New members are always welcome to come along on a free visit to the meetings.
