Originally formed in 1915, the WI meets on the 1st Wednesday of every month
at the Orpen Memorial Hall where meetings cover far-ranging topics such as
'Bishops & Brothels' and 'Auctioneering & Antiques' as well as more local
matters such as charitable work and fundraising.
The
Institute also arranges a number of outings each year (many welcoming
non-members as well) such as a barge cruise in the Lea Valley, a visit to Audley
End House and an annual trip to the Brentwood Carol Concert.
