Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (which came into force in 2005) gives a general right of access to all types of 'recorded' information held by public authorities, it also sets out exemptions from that right.  Under this legislation parish councils are obliged to:

  •     produce a publication scheme (see this page), and
  •     deal with individual requests for information.

If you have a request for information that is not addressed by the scheme shown below, or you need to contact the parish council about this scheme, then please contact:

Mrs Val Walsom, Clerk to the Parish Council
17 Armoury Road
West Bergholt,
Colchester,
CO6 3JN

Telephone:  01206 240149

Email: westbergholtpc@googlemail.com

If making your request by email please include "WBPC FOIA Request" in the subject box to ensure it is not blocked by any spam filters.

The Parish Clerk will only hold information that is current or for normal Parish Council information, e.g. minutes etc which is less than 5 years old.
